Its in Fort Collins, Lory state park overlooking horsetooth resivior i lived in boulder for 4 years going to school... C+ place for mountain biking. Ft Collins gets an A- in my humble opinion. Rippin town for trail riders.

Damn Lucky on the CKs. I just build up a pair with the same rims, WTB hubs (not recommended, the rear axel is already sloppy). You CAN use the short spoke nipples for the fore drilled rims, keeping in mind the extra MMs have to be made up with spoke length if spoke calc uses the 16mm nipples as default on those rims. Either work great. I'm proud of the riders that don't accept machine built, generic wheels. These have soul; and will last longer then any Mavic out of the box wheel if they are build by a great builder, the parts are easy to find if the chain goes into the spokes in Moab (it happens to the best of us, ride long enough and you're limit screw will back out), and you get cool points for running custom stuff. And you'll need to will those hubs to your next of kin...

Monarch Pass ride. You can get a shuttle to 11,000 feet to monarch pass on highway 285, then ride 50 miles to the town of Salida at 5,000 feet. Over those miles, its only about 1500 feet of climbing. Great day, it can be done from 1 day from Denver. Highly recomended.

I had to give you props for that! Shamefully, I ride a road bike in the winter only, while the trails are snowed in.

The handplant would hurt, I'd suggest the belly-flop dismount. He looks to be well padded up there.

He must go thought the course with a chainsaw first, to clip all the branches in his face. This is lame. I cant' believe someone spends time doing this. Headwinds must be especially tough. This should NOT be POD.

Got it! I agree brass is the verey best for extreme riding. A lot depends on our wheels!! By the way what does Polecam mean?

Nipples will shear off if the wheel is build with spokes just a hair short. This makes it so that part of the nipple is hollow. Spokes need to be long enough to fill the nipple at least to flush with the wall of the rim. If a bunch of them failed at once thats my guess. POLECAM on bro!

I ruined my boxxer at Keystone in about 6 days of riding. Thanks god for warranties, I blew out the internals. We are in a transitional period of our sport, bikes have gotten lots of sweet travel and they are relatively light - but not as durable as we'd like. Its frustrating, because these days pushing limits on yor bike is expensive. Getting DH stuff warrantied seems harder than with road or XC, its like the comanies know that were killin the stuff or somethin. Pushing limits on your snowboard just make going to the doctor more expensive.

Lol. Boulder Cops. Why did they show up? Small penis syndrome, basic american cop haters. In our country, police are the bullies that can't get jobs relating to being productive. So they hate. I have so many goddamn Boulder cop stories, and I'm from California. I served four years under the Peoples Republic of Boulder, its a fun place but the guards are a*sholes.

Do you like those rims? I killed a pair in just six days at keystone, partly it was having soft springs and still hittin stuff. But anyway they dinged up really bad, normally I can run hoops for a couple of seasons. Thoughts?

Its on the southside, and roughly follows the panoramic highway from Mtn Home Inn to Pantoll. Eldridge is on the north side of tam, near the top is North Side singltrack.... I got a ticket on it in '91, so pick your times carefully.

Nightride:

Up tenderfoot, gravity car to RR.
RR to west point, then out rock springs single to the mtn theatre.
Down easy grade, tippytied past Pantoll (no brakes, no shifing, no coasting please...STEALTH
Down Deer park, then had an epic Safety Meeting at the top of Coastal. I hit a layer of fog right at the trailheasd that was so thick, I turned off my headlamp and just ran the bike light. I went up the road (I always feel bad about riding though green gulch at night) and then down into homestead singltrack. 25 miles, 4,500' of climbing. Three bowls, no flats, lots of opportunites for high speed air.
